“Carlos, l’ultima volta” it is a work that developed starting from a theatrical short in the form of a monologue in 2016, extended in 2020 to two characters and then arriving at the current version which I consider the most exhaustive, both from a dramaturgical and staging point of view, thanks to those intermediate studies undertaken during the long journey of these years.

The figure of Carlos Gardel is crucial for the history of tango of the last century as he is the character who more than anyone else has represented the embodiment of the characteristic elements of this discipline. Thanks to him the tango was spread all over the world and had a powerful impact on the masses like his contemporary Rudolph Valentino.

Invisible interlocutor and figure surrounded in many ways by an aura of mystery, el morocho de Abasto lives again through the continuous passages of time and the memories of conversations he had with Le Pera, which make him a loved and desired subject with the profound intensity of a hidden but forbidden love

Carlos Gardel

The figure of the "morocho de Abasto"

Examples of fanaticism that transcend time, so much so that in Argentina we still talk about Gardel in the present.

A setting where all these aspects find their place in a Milonga atmosphere in which the silent and physical presence of Carlos hovers, moving like a spectrum among the characters.
Through this setting I wanted to represent on stage the aspects of Carlos' life that characterized him and that coincide perfectly with what Tango brings with it: passion, nostalgia, melancholy, debauchery, excesses, poignant relational dynamics , the sensuality.
