In the darkness of a cell, in a criminal asylum, a man and his apparitions try to reconstruct a forgotten past. Flashes of everyday life mix with memories, fantasies, lucubrations and nightmares. It is a timeless wait, punctuated by occasional yet habitual encounters with a prostitute, dreamer and innocent, by the accurate teachings of a butcher, greedy for harmonies, and by the litanies of a holy mother of Neapolitan origins, iconic and ironic at the time same.

Occhio al cuore is not a simple show, it is not trivially a story of madness, but it is a representation full of details, a very accurate work on the actors and on the direction, also very beautiful. A show that displaces, forces you to think, attracts and repels, disturbs but makes you participate. Hard to ask for more.

An easy way out

Imagine the motivations of an apparently unmotivated murder

Detail after detail, the story unfolds and the presences change, definitively imprisoning the protagonist in a universe of horror and solitude.

Man and his journey. A crude and concrete language juxtaposed with Caravaggio-esque images, in which the extreme act suggested by Poe becomes a pretext, a symbol of personal fulfillment, of the dream of life, of liberation from what frightens us and blocks our flight.

Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise. Three paintings through which the colors, nightmares, vices, and virtues of humankind move. A mosaic where “entropy” does not necessarily rhyme with “madness.”
